EU helps IDPs in Mykolaiv region to prepare for the upcoming winter
On 15th October in Mykolaiv a Ceremonial handing over of warm clothing items and textiles to Internally displaced persons (IDPs) will take place with EU support within the project “New home, school, integration and work opportunities for internally displaced persons in Mykolaiv”. The IDPs will get what is most urgently needed: winter jackets, blankets, as well as bedding and towels sets. In general, this EU-funded Project provides IDPs hosted by Mykolaiv with housing and basic essentials.

Background information
In March 2015 the Department of Economy and Investment together with other departments of the Executive Committee of Mykolaiv City Council and organizations of the city participated in the 2nd Call of the EU Grant Programme "Support to Ukraine’s Regional Development Policy" with the project "New home, school, integration and work opportunities for internally displaced persons in Mykolaiv". The project aims to provide comprehensive psychological, social and advisory assistance and housing, clothing and other necessities to IDPs hosted by Mykolaiv from temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine and anti-terrorist operation area. On 5th March 2015 the Executive Committee of Mykolaiv City Council signed the Grant Contract with the European Union represented by the European Commission in order to obtain financing implementation of the project. The Project budget is €264k and it is implemented during 12 months.
